I hope that most of you have enjoyed a wonderful Spring Break mini-vacation. I enjoyed the 90 degree weather of Palm Springs, but am still happy to return to our beautiful Spring blooms and color of the Portland area. With everything looking so gorgeous and the sunny weather, it’s no wonder that home sales are blooming as well.
According to the Portland Business Journal – New Homes are selling at the highest pace in seven years, nearly 25% higher than February of 2014 (PBJ, March 24, 2015). Also, The Oregonian (March 13, 2015) reported that Hillsboro is the hottest new area with median sales prices having risen 10.9% from last year at this time. The last bit of sunny disposition for Real Estate, is that Freddie Mac is predicting that 2015 will be the best year for home sales in eight years (Housingwire, March 11, 2015). According to this article 40% of all home sales will occur between March and the next four months, as reported by the deputy chief economist with Freddie Mac – “…expect this year to be the best for home sales and new home construction since 2007…”
